Team Affiliation: Guardians of the Galaxy
Personality:
Groot has a childlike personality, surprisingly innocent for a species prone to smashing enemies to bits. He’s very social despite the fact he only knows the words ‘I am Groot,’ and only in that order. He genuinely likes people, and when he bonds to them is an impressively capable protector.
Groot actually has impressive intellect, however due to his inability to communicate effectively with most races he often appears idiotic. He also has the mental maturity of a 5-10 year old, eager to help – at times too eager – and very shocked by things that don’t follow his morals, despite the fact that he’s a bounty hunter/mercenary. He’s naïve, and frankly it’s for the better. His logical skills are at times limited, however the space they leave is occupied by an earnest affection for others.

Family: Seeded from Enobled Line
Marital status: Single
History:
Seeded and grown on Planet X, Groot is a Flora colossus. He comes from an Enobled Sap-line, which meant he had a very thorough education from the Arbor Masters. From an early age he was gifted at quasi-dimensional super-positional engineering. However intelligent and high born, Groot and the other saplings didn’t bond well. Groot found companionship with his planet’s Maintenance Mammals, animals similar to squirrels that the other saplings looked down on.
Upon one occasion Groot discovered another Flora colossus brutalizing one of the Maintenance Mammals, and in order to protect it killed his fellow Flora. In punishment for his crime, the Arbor Masters banished Groot from Planet X.
In later years Groot wandered into Kree space, where he was captured and imprisoned. This was where he first met up with Rocket, and he’s kept close to the racoon ever since. He joined Rocket in the bounty hunter profession, and this is how met the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy, after attempting to capture Peter Quill. Together they defeated Ronan, and set off into space as a team. Now they've been called to earth by another group, the Avengers.

Sample Post:
The space ship was very far away for poor flesh creatures. Rocket would have a long journey.
Groot strode down the dirt path, the man in the bag across his shoulder squirming. The long loping strides were doing nothing to calm him down as he continued to roar death threats and spit obscenities like 'bark-breath'. He was even threatening to light Groot on fire.
Silly Terran. Fire would’t hurt Groot.
Rocket had told him to go right to the ship. He had promised he was staying back at the colony for important reasons, but the way he’d been looking at the primitive people’s sacred pebble made Groot doubt his intentions. It was more for that reason he kept a steady pace even through the lush nature. Any moment now Rocket would surely come barreling down the path with an angry group of colonists on his tail.
Groot was keeping a steady pace before he saw... it. When he did, he stopped short, large eyes swelling with wonder.
“I am Groot,” he breathed in wonder at the field of white fluffy flowers. The wind stirred, and in a great ocean of pods the flowers took off, chasing one another across the orange grass. The Terran gave him a jab with its elbow, and he dropped it. It let out a whiny shriek, but Groot was already reaching out an arm across the field to catch one of the white flowers that had been trapped in the grass. He drew it back to him, mouth spreading in childlike glee. He stroked the little bud with a gnarled finger, making a cooing noise. Gently, deftly, he placed it in the gap of his head bark. He wanted to give it to Rocket!
Gathering back up the squealing Terran he continued his journey to their ship, assuring the man he wouldn't be harmed with a resounding, “I am Groot!”
